3-Day Danakil Depression Tour

3-Day Danakil Depression Tour

3 Days

Discover the Hottest, Lowest, and Most Otherworldly Place on Earth

Tour Overview

The Danakil Depression is one of the most extraordinary places on the planet — a surreal landscape of active volcanoes, colorful hydrothermal fields, salt flats, and ancient camel caravans. Located in Ethiopia’s Afar region, it sits more than 100 meters below sea level and is known as one of the hottest inhabited environments on Earth.

This 3-day expedition starts from Addis Ababa and takes you through Semera, Erta Ale volcano, Dallol’s vibrant geothermal formations, Lake Asale, and the dramatic salt-mining fields. Designed for adventure seekers, this tour offers unforgettable scenery, cultural encounters with the Afar people, and safe, well-organized travel with 4×4 vehicles and expert local guides.
